#AndyTalks 2016-09-26 – Sales Solves Everything

TRANSCRIPTION

Tomorrow I’ll bring my moleskin and pen (my notebook) and when I’m waiting for traffic to die down, I’ll be able to plan my week. Scrap that, maybe I won’t. It’s quite nice just to have a bit of peace and quiet for a second before my week starts. It’s only five past nine and the queues have pretty much died down already so another five minutes I’ll just head home.

Do you love Monday mornings? I’ve mentioned this before that Monday morning to me is like a New Year’s Day. It’s a chance to start a fresh.

I’ll whiz through the notes I made from last week, see if there’s anything outstanding. I’ll add them into the to-do list, but I won’t go too anal about it. If it’s really important, I’ll remember it when I write out my to-do list this morning, or somebody will come up and remind me again.

I like my to-do list to be short. Ideally it’s the one thing that needs done today or this week. Typically that involves writing out quite a big to-do this, but as you’re writing more things pop into your head. You don’t always need to do all that stuff.

What’s worth doing, once you’ve got that big list, it’s just looking through it and working out what is that one thing that if you did it everything else is irrelevant, or easier to do. If you’re in business that most likely means getting more sales. Sales solves everything.

As Blaise Brosnan said on the course last week, “Make enough pennies, and you can employ somebody to count them.”
